We do a vast amount of activities for both boys and girls. Our camps are very well organised and give children aged 3 – 13 years the opportunity to make new friends, learn new skills and sports in an environment which puts emphasis on “learning through play”.
Aled is a well known coach for developing children ABC’s ( Agility, Balance, Agility & Speed). If children have a strong base in these skills then they find participation easier within all sports and exercise.
We recruit two types of staff at our camps
(1) Lead Coach – Qualified sports coaches or qualified teachers – this meaning these staff have formal qualifications which can be shown at the interview, fully Garda vetted at a school or sports club and have a first aid qualifications. The Lead Coaches will teach and control at the teaching that goes on within the daily activities.
(2) Assistants / Helpers to the Lead Coaches
These staff are student or teenagers who express an interest in working with young children in a safe and fun learning environment..
The aim for these assistants is to work within the camp WITHOUT looking at their phone whilst working at the camp. With social media being such a big part of teenagers life’s etc we make a big point of not having phones on during camp. If your on the phone then you are not looking after the children !!!! If you don’t like this rule, then don’t ask Aled for work.
When working at the camps all staff are expected to work within the philosophy and standards that are set.
Within all our activities our lead coaches use the ” Whole – Part – Whole ” teaching style. This meaning that the teacher starts every session with playing the “WHOLE” game. This gives the children a full understanding of the game and how it looks and feels. once they have tried the whole game, the children work on “PART ” of the game i.e a skill or a tactical situation. This is where everything is broken down into specific skill development or learning a new tactic within the game. This is done in 2’s / 3’s within mini game situations.
” Perfect Practise Makes PERFECT “
During this phase, children are given FEEDBACK as it it informs them how they are doing, and also children can assess themselves by the coach / assistant asking questions i.e how did that feel, was that the correct technique, how did that work so well !
When the children have worked on this PART, then it is reintroduced back into the “WHOLE” game so that the children fully understand how it fits into the game. This is Whole-Part-Whole. At the end of each session, all children are sat down, and the coach gives feedback about the session and reinforces with the children what they tried to learn.
We do start very session with a warm up game, which warms up the body physically and mentally challenges and “switches” the child on before participation. One go the warm games we use is Scooby Doo, which uses hula hoops on the floor. It is a great game for developing listening skills, co-operation, speed of thought and speed of movement.
The aim within the camp is that children have fun and make friends whilst learning new skills.
We split the children into 3 age groups

All staff are expected to understand the above information and have an awareness of the expectations.
All staff will be given two t-shirts and a jacket to wear at camp. These items MUST her worn every day at camp. Staff can either wear black shorts, black leggings or black tracksuit bottoms with the staff clothing. No other clothing is acceptable.
Before you start your first day at camp, staff are expected to answer the staff multi-choice questionnaire. Please print it out, answer the questions and hand it to Aled on your first day at camp.

With Aled’s experience of working with young children, the camps have the highest quality staff who are either experienced teachers or qualified sports coaches.
The environment is based around a philosophy of learning through fun exercises and activities. Multi activity means “multi activity” and with having 2 indoor sports hall and 6 classrooms we have taken the weather out of the equation at our camps. We don’t do quizzes when it rains!
